Concealed Change

Concealed change is the screenplay of a young Russian soldier. This story originates from a task on my course where we had to pick a photo. We then had to describe what we saw in the photo and then imagine a story based upon the photo.

Scene 1
Young soldier wearing dark camouflaged uniform. Contemplative look on face. Adoring camouflaged pattern cap which has a silver star in the centre of it. On his left arm is sown the insignia of his brigade. His AK47 resting on his forearm. Russian flag hanging from the end of the gun.
Scene 2
Soldier changes from a pensive mood to a more upbeat one. Symbolised by a wry smile. Stands up and moves on to where a crowd is gathered. Soldier stands at the back of the crowd. They are gathered around a Senior Officer and a beaten man. The officer inflicts a blow to the back of the beaten man's head. Crowd in support of the officer. Volume increasing. Officer turns, salutes crowd and leaves. Crowd disperse.
Scene 3
Soldier in limbo. The crowd have long gone. No comrades in sight. Without any orders, soldier attempts to find his commanding officer. The soldier moves along tree lined street and to his right, spots an elderly man sitting on the bench. The elderly man is holding a cigarette in one hand and holding a well seasoned leather travel bag in the other. The man makes eye contact with the soldier. The man turns away.
